<p>PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance by forming a hardened layer having high wear resistance on the surface of a control part which rubs a tape. CONSTITUTION:A control part 10c containing the protruding arms 10a and 10b over both side edges of a tape rubbing surface 1a of a magnetic head 1 is set at both sides of a tape guide 10 respectively. Then an Ni layer, for example, having high wear resistance is formed as a hardened layer having high wear resistance on the entire surface of the part 10c which rubs a magnetic tape by an electroless plating process in 5mum thickness. Furthermore a hard Cu layer is formed on the Ni layer by an electroplating process in 0.5mum thickness. Thus the wear resistance is improved for the tape guide and the running position of the tape can be accurately controlled for a long period.</p> |
