Headlight for vehicle with gap between edges - includes reflector and front window to accommodate differential thermal expansion

The headlight, for a vehicle, has a peripheral gap in a radial direction between the edges of the reflector and the frosted front window of the headlight. The width of this gap at two diametrically opposite places on the window is greater than the difference in thermal expansion between reflector and window. The sealing ring consists of a permanently plastic material. The slot that holds the sealing ring between the edges of the reflector and the window has a cross-section chosen so that when the window and the reflector are joined a part of the sealing ring extends into the gap between the edges of the reflector and window. The window and reflector are prevented from moving radially w.r.t. to one another.
