The self threading control for a cassette, in which a film guide leads the film to the spool, while a sprung foil (8) runs from the tip of the guide to lead the film around the spool. A second, stronger foil (9) is set partially around the spool to grip the film. the thin foil provides an accurate threading control, which is retracted when the film leader is securely gripped. It provides a low friction guide with the film gripped on the roughened surface of the spool.
