<p>The automatic threader for a light proof fikm cassette in which the spool is formed by two concentric shells, one (14) to fit over the driv drive spindle, and the other to rotate about the first one. The space between the shells takes the film leader, via a slot (21) in the outer shell. A pivoted catch (18) at the end of the film guide (6) grips a notch (17) in the outer shell to line up the slot with the film. The catch is released when the film tension is taken up by the inner shell, by lifting up the catch. This allows the outer shell to rotate and wind the film. The threader is fully automatic and self-aligning.</p> |
