Flexible films, fibers, and the like, of (1) potassium, ammonium and amine salts of unsaturated copolymerizable carboxylic acids, at least one alkyl acrylate or methacrylate ester wherein the alkyl group contains 10 to 30 carbon atoms and at least one of an alkyl acrylate or methacrylate wherein the alkyl group contains 1 to 9 carbon atom, an acrylic or methacrylic nitrile or amide optionally with a small amount of a cross-linking agent and (2) an aliphatic glycol, rapidly absorb and retain large quantities of water and ionic fluids are useful in disposable nonwoven articles. |
