<p>The castor mounting permits the castor to swivel on an axis inside the vertical support housing (22) which is located inside a hollow leg of a furniture item. The swivel shaft is displaced vertically by a cam (66) in the top of the mounting to operate the castor brake, as well as the swivel brake, with a hand or foot control linked to the cam. The brake action is fully hidden. At least two brake positions are provided on the cam. The castor brake operates via a hinged arm (50) pressing down onto the castor tyre, while the swivel brake has a locking bolt (44) which locks both parts of the swivel bearing shells together.</p> |
