The electrical monitoring system has alarm units to indicate faulty operation. The alarm units have a device to generate optical and acoustic warning signals simultaneously. The alam units are connected at their inputs to at least two aggregates of the vehicle being monitored and are designed so that when a fault occurs in one of the aggregates the warning signals are released via the alarm device. At least two aggregates or the measuring devices associated with them are connected to the inputs of an OR-circuit whose output is connected to the alarm device. The OR-circuit is constructed as a 1-form-n multiplexer and is connected at its output to an indicator that indicates which aggregate is faulty.
