<p>TREATMENT OF COKE OVEN GAS Coke oven gas does not find ready uses but is available in large quantities. It could be converted by steam reforming to a useful reducing gas, for example to reduce ferric oxide to iron, if carbon deposition during the steam reforming could be reduced. According to the invention this is achieved by reducing the carbon monoxide content of the coke oven gas either by converting carbon oxides to methane or by converting carbon monoxide to carbon-dioxide.</p> |
