Electromagnetic relay has a flag or compass needle type indicator on the armature to indicate the direction of movement. The armature also operates the spring sets and so the indicator shows which spring sets are operated. The indicators may be either clipped to the relay armatures or clipped over the realy dust cover. They are intended for relays which move a horizontal armature upwards when energised. One alternative is a flat (132) on a bar (131) across the armature (13, 14, 15, 16) which moves the spring sets. When the relay is energised the flag will flip over to pointup ards as the armature moves. The indicators show where the relay armatures should be when several relays are arranged together in equipment, e.g. relays (13, 15) which are energised and where the armatures have moved up show the flag up (132, 152) and have moved (bars 131, 151 up).
