Frame and equipment cabinet for wall-mounting mounting a small PBX (Private Branch Exchange), is intended for printed circuit board (PCB)-designed equipment with either edge connectors or jack strips on the boards. A back plate is fixed to the wall and has connecting strips fastened to it for the incoming wiring. The connecting strips have jack connections along the top into which connectors from the equipment frame are plugged. The equipment frame is fastened onto the back plate. The equipment frame carries guides and jacks for PCB's, carrying the circuits, to be jacked in. The equipment frame (10) is fastened to the back plate (1) by removing a cross bar (13) from its side holders (12), moving the equipment frame into position on its jacks (11, 30) and the top bar (15) back between the side holders (12) of the back plate (1) so that the retaining bar (13) can be dropped back into position along the channel (15) of the equipment frame (10) and into the side holders (12). A power unit (16), on a frame with horizontal hooks (17), is clipped (18) into position above the equipment frame (10).
