The control switch can be used with little modification in e.g. environments where there is a risk of fire. The long part of its casing consists of a tubular extruded profiled part (2) closed at one end by a base (3) and at the other end by a cover (4). The cover has an inset skirt (7) that sits on a ledge on the inside of the tubular part. The cover and tubular part are joined together by a flexible piece which slides into a groove (10) formed by two slots one in the face of the tubular part and one in the opposite face of the cover. The base too may be connected to the tubular part in the same way.
