PURPOSE:To make an indication easily readable and enable its utilization to the making of a chart, measurement of recess and projection, inspection of flat surface or the like, by indicating the distribution of depth in different colors. CONSTITUTION:Display can be performed in different colors on an indicator 9. An ultrasonic wave is radiated from a transmitter receiver 2 by a signal from a transmitter 3 and reflected on a measured surface 1 and received by the transmitter receiver 2 to generate a signal. This signal is applied to a processing circuit 7 through a transmission/reception switch 5 and an amplifier 6 so that the signal is changed into a voltage correponding to the time from the radiation of the ultrasonic wave to its reception. The voltage is divided to a plurality of frequency ranges. The divided voltages are entered into a memory circuit 8 and stored by a detection signal which is supplied from a position detector 10 and represents the scanned position of the transmitter receiver 2. Colors corresponding to the frequency division ranges are allocated to the voltages. A distribution diagram in a color corresponding to the depth is displayed on the indicator 9. The distribution of depth in different colors can be easily read and be utilized to the making of a chart, measurement of a chart, measurement of recess and projection, inspectin of flat surface or the like. |
