The oil mist generator has a nozzle with tangential inlets generating gas turbulence. There is a passage delivering oil into the tangential inlets together with an outlet for the turbulent stream of oil mist. There is a second nozzle similar to the first and so mounted that its outlet for the oil mist is aimed at the outlet of the first. The tangential inlets of the second nozzle generating the gas turbulence are so situated that the direction of rotation of the oil mist stream emerging from its outlet is opposite to that emerging from the first nozzle outlet.
