The tennis practice appts. consists of a movable ball-carrying rod which gives way when hit by a stroke and returns to its starting position after the effect of the stroke. The ball carrying rod (8) with that end opposite to the ball is attached to a rotating holding device which under the effect of a stroke on the ball (10) gives away through an angle up to a flexible stop swinging back from there against a second stop into the starting position. The appts. also includes a device to damp or control the movement of the ball carrying rod both towards the flexible stop as well as its return movement into the starting position. The damping device consists of a spring shock absorber unit with a pre-set pinion wheel and a tip up lever.
