PURPOSE:To obtain a large-sized, highly-oriented graphite molding having a lamellar structure by hot press molding a compsn., under specified conditions, based on a synthetic resin such as furan resin which is not melted by heating. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. based on a synthetic resin such as furan resin which is not melted by heating is hot press molded at 2000 deg.C or above, pref. 2000-2500 deg.C under 100-500, pref. 150-300kg/cm<2> to obtain a graphite molding having a lamellar structure. This molding exhibits a bulk density of 2g/cm<3> or more, electric specific resistance of 10<5>muOMEGA.cm or more in a direction parallel with the pressurizing direction and 10<3>muOMEGA.cm or less in a direction perpendicular to the pressurizing direction, and heat conductivities of 5 and 30Kcal/m.hr. deg.C or more in the respective directions. |
