PURPOSE:To provide an electrostatic powder spray gun which prevents deposition of powder paint on cylindrical electrode and by which continuous coating can be carried out for a prolonged period, having a hollow chamber into which gas stream is introduced from a gas jetting port, the said chamber being arranged in a concave part of a passage through which gas is fed under pressure to a material to be painted. CONSTITUTION:Powder paint is supplied quantitatively from a paint supply device 24 and introduced from a powder inflow port 7 through an ejector pump 21 and a paint hose into a spray gun main body 10 by using air flow the pressure of which is controlled by a compressor 22, a dehumidifier 23 and an air regulator 24. A mixed flow of solid and gas introduced into the spray gun is passed through a hole provided on a washer 16 for fixing a needle electrode 3 and charged by an electric field generated between the needle electrode 3 and a cylindrical electrode 2 the inner diameter of which is 1-10mm larger than that of an flow passage 12. The charged mixed flow is passed through the powder flow passage 12, collides with a diffuser 11, is diffused and deposited on the material to be painted. Either the needle electrode 3 or the cylindrical electrode 2 is energized by a high voltage generator 8, high voltage is applied to one electrode and the other is connected to the earth. |
