<p>In an uphill electroded cascaded development station, background toner deposits are reduced by substantially discharging background areas or recharging background areas reversely as by subjecting the partially developed image to illumination or appropriate corona charging. Further development of the latent electrostatic image bearing surface occurs with the background areas thereof being less attractive for toner.</p> |
