PURPOSE:To secure a simple and accurate measurement for the distance between the optional transponders based on the measurements of before and after movement of the working machine by shifting the working machine itself in a fixed distance. CONSTITUTION:Transponders TA and TB are installed at optional positions A and B on the sea bottom, and ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver U of intermittent wolking type working machine 1 is installed at position Ra. And the position of U is defined as Rb after shifting machine 1 by distance r on the sea bottom, and the ultrasonic wave measurements between positions Ra/Rb and transponders TA/TB are referred to as la, lb, la' and lb' respectively. Thus distance L to be obtained between positions A and B features as shown in Eq. I. Accordingly, based on this equation, an operation is carried out at the control arithmetic part on the working ship which is connected to U via the cable, thus obtaining easily distance L between the transponders. |
