摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the basic unit of electric power for electrolysis, by using a cation exchange membrane as diaphragm in the electrolytic cell of aqueous solution of halogenated alkali, and structuring in filter press type of specified shape and dimensions, using mesh type bipolar electrode. CONSTITUTION:In an electroytic cell for electrolysis of aqueous solution of halogenated alkali such as NaCl, a cation exchange membrane 1 is used as diaphragm. The electrode used should be of mesh type of which opening rate is 30-70% to structure an electrolytic cell of filter press type. An anode 2 is nearly contacting with the exchange membrane 1, and a cathode 3 is opposedly provided to the diaphragm leaving a spacing about 2-4mm. The thickness of wall of anode chamber 5 are suppled with aqueous solution from the lower part threof, and discharge aqueous solution and generated gas rom the upper part. The height of both chambers should be more than 900mm, and the effective conductive area should be more than 100dm<2>. By enlarging the volume of the both chambers, the containing volume ratio of gas bubbles generated in the electrodes is decreased, and the voltage drop of the solution is reduced, so that the basic unit of electric power may be decreased.
