<p>A boom arm (40) of a boom assembly (24) for a material handling vehicle (10) is formed of side walls (54, 56) integrated into a box boom structure where the top (60) and bottom (72, 74) plates are roll-formed with transition edges providing a weld bed (96) for welds (100) attaching the side walls (56) to the top and bottom plates. The particular cross sections of the top (60) and bottom (72, 74) plates provide a weld blow-through preventing barrier and also dimensional guidance and tolerance control during assembly of the boom arm. </p> |
