A centrifugal screen for removing water and fine particles from coal is in the shape of a frustrum of a cone with a circular support ring (14, 16) at each end. These rings (14, 16) are joined by straight rods (22) of T shaped cross-section which support a number of equally spaced wire rings (20) of rectangular cross-section. The rectangles formed by the intersection of the rings (20) and rods (22) are filled with parallel wires of triangular cross-section with very small gaps between them to permit the passage of water or very fine particles. |
