In a snap-action switch actuated by a cam 24, Fig. 1, on a spindle 17, the spindle 17 is mounted in a bearing 14 of the casing 11 having a keyway 16 to permit insertion of the cam 24 through the bearing aperture 15 wherein it is locked by a partial turn of the spindle 17; stops 25 integral with the casing are engaged by a bent tongue 22 on the head 19 of the spindle 17 to prevent the spindle 17 being rotated to a position where the cam 24 re-aligns with the keyway 16. Cam 24 engages an actuating lever 55, Fig. 5, pivoted at one end in a recess 57 of the casing and yieldingly retained by the snap-action spring 53 supporting the movable contact 49 against its pivot on terminal bracket 44. An inspection opening is provided in the switch cover for adjustment of the bracket 44 by bending and is closed by a pressed in seal. The contact terminals have projections engageable in recesses in both the casing and cover when assembled. |
