PURPOSE:To improve repetitive stability of charging potential along with the pause of a photoreceptor by providing a development bias applying device, etc. and controlling the development bias applying voltage to be erased according to the temperature of the photoreceptor and pause time. CONSTITUTION:At the starting of new copying operation upon ending of copying of the preset number of sheets, the counting of the pause time of the photoreceptor is started by a counter unit 1. Each time when the pause time of the photoreceptor reaches unit time t0, the temperature of the photoreceptor is detected and the lapse of the unit time t0 and the temperature of this time are inputted to a central processing unit 5. The central processing unit 5 calculates the development bias voltage necessary for copying of the next time based on the results of this calculation. From the results of this calculation, the internal resistance in the power source of a development bias voltage applying device 7 is changed over to change the applied voltage, whereby development is done. In this way, the change, etc. of the charging characteristics along with the pause of the photoreceptor produced at the start of new copying are compensated and the repetitive stability of the charging potentials may be improved. |
