<p>The colour tone comparison method is for correct colour matching when painting metal plates and is esp. useful when repairing damage to motor vehicles so that the finished work does not appear as a patch on the bodywork. A magnetic foil is painted with the colour presumed to match the original and is placed on the region to be treated. Pref. a round opening is provided in the foil and its circumference is laid on the given coloured surface so that false impressions arising from reflections, can be avoided. Time is saved since work does not begin until correct matching has been achieved and subsequent paint removal is not necessary. The foil can be a square with 90 mm side and about 0.5 mm in thickness.</p> |
