<p>The blower tube arrangement for mining operations, with sections (6, 11) of tube suspended by chains from the roof members of adjustable travelling support units, employs a mechanism for disconnecting and connecting the tubes to suit adjustments of the support units. The end (10) of one tube (6) is released from the end (9) which fits over it and is swung sideways ready for connection in a new position. The two pipe ends are supported by a parallelogram linkage with two long arms (22, 23) attached by hinge pins (21, 24) to collars (15, 25) clamped around the tube ends. A short lever (28) attached by a hinge pin (30) to one of the long arms (22) is also hinged to an extension (27) on a plate (26) attached to the end (9) of one of the tubes (11).</p> |
