One half of a hydraulically-operated friction clutch forms the outer casing (1), while the other half consists of a shaft hub (8) bouded by flanges (9, 10), to which are attached the hydraulic cylinder (7) and piston (6) and the double pressure plates (5). The application of hydraulic pressure causes the pressure plates to be pressed against the inclined inner surfaces (3) of the casing (1), to transfer the torque. The attachment bolts (13, 14) for the piston (6) and cylinder (7) are linked alternately by two rings of straps (11). These allow axial movements while maintaining the assembly concentric to the hub.
|
