A spectroscopic arrangement for examining a radiation spectrum has a number of detectors which can be positioned to desired spectral positions from a remote, normal position. Adjusters are provided which can selectively engage the detectors to bring them into the desired positions. When in position, the adjusters are released, leaving the detectors alone in their selected positions. A clamp can be used for the adjusters. The clamp can be operated from the remote position. The clamp can be effective for all the detectors. Alternatively, each detector has its own clamp assigned to it, and the clamps can be selectively actuated. The detectors can be positioned along the upper surface of a support. The latter can be even and the detectors provided with wheels.
