<p>An indicating device shows when a max. speed is exceeded esp. for use with road traffic, gives reliable optical or acoustic indication of when the speed limit is inadvertently exceeded. It is suitable for retrospective installation as well as for fitting as original equipment. A contact arm (13) passes over a contact path with contacts (12, 12'--) arranged according to the different speeds to which they correspond. The position of the arm depends on the speed. The contacts are connected in parallel and via illuminated switches (141, 141') to one lead of a current source. The other lead of the source is connected via a signal generator (16) to the contact arm. The contacts (12, 12') are mutually isolated until reached by the arm, whereupon the contact touching the arm is shorted to the previous one, via a diode (176).</p> |
