The invention is concerned with a process for manufacturing tufted textile articles comprising tufting yarn into a primary backing fabric having a coating of a lubricating oil composition, characterized in thatthe lubricating oil composition comprises a major amount of a polyalkoxylate lubricating oil and a minor amount of a C<Sub>10</Sub> to C<Sub>22</Sub> aliphatic carboxylic acid and/or a saitthereof. The invention is also concerned with the lubricating oil compositions and also with the primary backing fabrics having a coating of the lubricating oil compositions.
