摘要

1-(Trialkylamino)-3-phenylphenoxy-2-propanol quarternary salts are described herein. They exhlbit potent and long-acting anti-arrhythmic activity while lacking the undesirable side-effects, e.g. .beta.-andregenic receptor blocking activity and local anesthetic activity characteristic of prior art compounds. The compounds of this invention are prepared by contacting the appropriate tertiary amine with an alkyl halide, alkyl sulfate or alkyl phosphate.
