PURPOSE:To increase the rate of thickness reduction of rolling rolls and improve rolling efficiency by arraying multiple floating rolls around the reinforcing back pressure member curving along the rolling surface of a rolling drive roll. CONSTITUTION:Multiple floating rolls 4 are connected and arrayed around the reinforcing back pressure member 3 curving along the rolling surface of a rolling drive roll 1. While a travelling metal plate 5 is being run in the clearance between the rolling drive roll 1 and the rolling non-driven roll 2 consisting of the back presure member 3 and floating rolls 4, it is continuously rolled. A screw-down device or position moving device constituted by a screw-down screw, eccentric cam, cylinder, etc. is provided to the drive roll 1 and reinforcing back pressure member 3 to roll the metal plate 5 with arbitrary positions and thickness reduction quantity. This mechanism lets rolling be accomplished efficiently even with one unit of the rolling mill of a small working area even in rolling of a large thickness reduction ratio. |
