NEW MATERIAL:A carbamoylpiperazine derivative of formula I or its acid addition salt (R<1>,<2> are H or lower alkyl; X is naphthyl or II R3-5 are H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, OH, benzyloxy, or acylamino). EXAMPLE:N,N'-Bis[3-(4-chlorophenoxy)-2-hydroxypropyl]piperazine. USE:Agent having beta-blocking activity, and effective to the disorders in the circulatory organs, the respiratory organs, blood, metabolism of lipid, etc. PROCESS:The compound I is prepared by reacting a phenyl glycidyl ether derivative with piperazine, and introducing N-carbamoyl group to the reaction product. The N-carbamoylation reaction is pref. carried out with a cyanic acid salt or nitrourea. |
