Lacquers are based on polyesters derived from dibasic acids (deriv) and dihydric and higher alcohols, at least part of the dibasic acid used having formula:- (where Ar is a terephthalic or isophthalic acid residue naphthalene dicarboxylic acid residue or the residue of acids of formula:- (where X is -CO-, -SO2-, -O- or alkylene, and n=0 or 1). They are used for lacquering of electrical conductors and they have superior thermal props. (e.g. stability to sudden heating) and good mechanical characteristics. |
