Latex paints which contain solid, nonfilm forming plastic pigment and opacifying pigment, have a pigment vol. concn. greater than the crit. PVC detd. by opacity measurement and form hard dry films with higher opacity. They contain 30-70 wt.% solids consisting of 25-70% polymeric binder, 10-60% polymeric noncellular, nonfilm-forming particles, 5-25% TiO2 as opacifying pigment, 0-50% nonopacifying pigment.
