A multistrand cable manufacturing machine with an automatic conductor feed system where the components are fed along slots on a circular disc. they are delivered to the assembly station in a predetermined order. they are pushed into position by a slider mechanism. The number of sliders (4, 4a) is the same as the number of holders (8, 8a) for the conductors. There is a gripping tool (15, 16) on the machine which picks up the conductors (12abc) and feeds them through a hole in the fixed plate (1). The holder can be shifted in the direction of the feed.
