<p>The system comprises a heat exchanger 8 which, in the case of a diesel-engined vehicle, is interposed in the diesel fuel feed circuit between a filter 4 and the fuel injection pump 3. Part of the flow of exhaust gases is drawn from the exhaust pipe 18 and passes through the heat exchanger 8 to heat the diesel fuel, with a view to improving the efficiency of combustion. In a system for an oil fired boiler, the fuel oil is pre-heated in the heat exchanger 8 by hot water from the radiator circuit or by steam. <IMAGE></p> |
