PURPOSE:To enable a time delay of pilot lighting to be widely shortened, by providing a starting pilot discharge cell in a position near a pilot discharge cell with an instantaneous discharge of this cell promoting a lighting of the pilot discharge cell. CONSTITUTION:A pilot X electrode 12 is partially extended, and in the point end of its extension part 12a is provided an electrode piece 21 of square-shape. And neighboring to upper portion of a pilot Y electrode 15, is provided an independent second pilot Y electrode 22, simultaneously with an electrode piece 23 of square- shape provided facing to the electrode piece 21 in the point end of the Y electrode 22. At an intersecting point, between the electrode pieces 21 and 23, is constituted a starting pilot discharge cell. And to the second pilot Y electrode 22 is connected a current limiting circuit 24, further with another end of said circuit 24 connected to a connection point P2 of resistors R1, R2 in a pilot voltage pulse generating circuit 7. |
