The superstructure is moved lengthways across sliding bearings, with interposed plates for reduction of friction, in the process for rhythmically phased sliding bridge construction. Sliding bearings mounted on the bridge piers and abutments are in the form of a steel structure, with chains running over pairs of rollers (13, 14), and plates (18) for friction reduction attached to the chain links. As the bridge superstructure is moved forward, the plates are moved over the bearings (3) in a sequence one after the other. There may be two sprocket chains in each case, with the plates fastened to them. This permits automatic inlaying of plates between bearing and bridge element.
|
