<p>The lock comprises a box containing a mounting (2) forming a bearing for a spring loaded rod (1). The rear part of this rod, inside the mounting, is wound as an electromagnet, its wires connected to terminals (3). The free end of the rod, outside the mounting, is claw-shaped (4) and is held outwards by the spring (5) to engage a catch (8, 9) on the container (10). When the electromagnet is energised, the rod pulls into the mounting and the claw releases the catch; this latter is ejected by a spring (6) contacting its end. The electro-magnet is in circuit with a capacitor which provides a time delay of about 5 or 10 seconds.</p> |
