Integral advance dust extractor in mine ventilating plant - has ventilator providing its own and cooling element's drive and serving as mixer

Ventilating currents with dust content are cooled, in mining operations, by a unit comprising a ventilator sucking in the current and a cooling device. an advance dust-remover(2), of compact form, with inflow piece(5) and adjustable water jet nozzles(14), is mounted ahead of the cooler(1). It is equipped with a ventilator(3), and forms a single entity with the cooler. The ventilator serves simultaneously as shared drive unit for dust-remover and cooler, and as mixer assembly and torsional force generator. Sufficient dust is initially removed from the drawn-in-air current for remaining dust to cause no fall in coller output, while turbulence in the wet dust-remover is used for improved heat exchange.
