The animal tethering system for e.g. a cowshed, has two sloping arms (10, 11) which can be swung apart and between which the head of the animal is inserted connected to two lower arms (12, 13). The lower amrs are connected to a lower anchorage point by a chain (15), and the upper arms are supported by individual chains (2) on collars (40) on a cross-bar (4). the upper arms are telescopic. The tops of the upper arms are supported from the chains by an intermediate horizontal (24) incorporating their pivots, and outer chains (32, 33). Alongside one chain is a cable (46) which can be wound around the cross bar. This operates to raise the arms as they are forced apart, the action being assisted by a loop (26) between the arms pushed up by the neck of the animal.
|
