In a spin resonance spectrometer including a sample chamber (83), the inlet pipe (92) supplying a liq. sample to the chamber is arranged so that the liq. entering the chamber has a component of movement directed tangentially to the chamber so that the liquid rotates in the chamber. This eliminates errors due to in homogeneity of the sample. There maybe two or more inlet pipes opening into the sample chamber at different points on the periphery but in the same plane. Helical channels may be located between the pipe and the sample chamber.
