Security system for banking documents - uses additional overprint which includes number identified by users identification card

The method is used for securing a Eurocheque against theft. During the production of the cheque this is provided with an additional overprint which includes a number of a personal identification card. Alternatively, during the supply of the cheque from the bank the cheques are stamped with the personal identification number of the holder to the cheque book. The object of the security procedure is to provide additional protection against thefts of full cheque books and prevent exchanges against cash.
