PURPOSE:To uniformly pressure-seal a solid electrolyte, by preventing the formation of detects in a molding process of a solid electrolyte vessel by mounting a taper portion by metallizing on an inner surface of an opening portion of the vessel and by installing metal mutually solid-dissolving with metallized layers, in the solid pole type oxygen sensor element. CONSTITUTION:In this oxygen sensor element for detecting the concentration of oxygen in exhaust gas fed back to an air fuel ratio regulating mechanism of an automobile engine, a taper portion 11 spreading toward an opening portion of a solid electrolyte vessel 10 mainly consisting ZrO2 is disposed to an inner surface of the opening portion. A taper portion 13 or a stage portion 14 with shape corresponding to the form of the taper portion 11 is mounted to a cover body 12 inserted into the taper portion 11. Metallized layers 15, 16 are made up on the surface in the taper portion 13 or the stage portion 14, and the vessel 10 is hermetically sealed by installing a ring-shaped seal material 17 in metal mutually solid-dissolving with the metallized layers between the metallized layers 15, 16. |
