PURPOSE:To improve casting precision of a cylinder liner made of cast iron or the like, to enable setting of the liner onto jigs as it has skin, and to improve working efficiency by die casting the liner integrally with a cylinder made of aluminum or the like. CONSTITUTION:A liner 1 is cast of cast iron or the like and comprises at least one annular rib 4 around the outer periphery 3 of a cylinder 2 and four longitudinal ribs 6 extending from the rib 4 to one end face 5 of the cylinder 2. With the liner 1 set on jigs correctly while preventing longitudinal and circumferential slip-off by the ribs 4 and 6, the liner 1 is made integral with a cylinder which is cast by pouring aluminum into the jigs, and the inside periphery of the liner 1 is finished with precision by boring and honing. Thus, the liner 1 can be set as it has skin, the number of machining steps can be reduced, and productivity can be improved. |
