CONSTITUTION:The raw fish is charged into the cooker C via the hopper 18 to denature the protein and to remove the biologically combined water. The fat is then separated. The cooked fish is fed from the outlet of the cooker C to the press P, and the oil and water are removed to form a press cake. The separated material containing the oil and water is fed from the holes 5a to the solid-liquid separator K, and the sludgy press lees are introduced into the dryer D, and the press cake and the lees are crushed by the discs 11. The powder and granules from the dryer D are mixed in a mixer to give a fish meal of uniform particle size. |
