An electronic flash equipment incorporating a light reception device which may vary the light reception angle through which the device receives the light reflected back from an object. The flash equipment may automatically control the flash duration in response to the output from the light reception device. The light reception device is simple both in construction and operation and is inexpensive to manufacture.
