PURPOSE:To increase the mechanical strength by constructing the outermost layer from a glass-fiber reinforced resin, the inner layer from a carbon-reinforced resin and a central layer from a glass-fiber reinforced resin in such a manner as to satisfy a particular condition. CONSTITUTION:Glass-fiber-reinforced resin (GFRP) layers 1 and 3 and a carbon- fiber-reinforced resin (CFRP) layer 2 are arranged with a neutral axis 0-0' as the axis of symmetry. For the GFRP layer 3, which is the outermost layer, GFRP which is superior in impact resistance to the CFRP layer is used, and CFRP having a high elastic modulus and excellent in fatigue characteristics is used for the CFRP layer 2, which is the inner layer. Further, for the center layer of GFRP 1, GFRP consisting of glass fiber which is not so strong but is inexpensive is used. The thickness of each of these layers is determined such as to satisfy the equation. Thus, before the rupture of the leaf spring is brought about, inter-layer peel-off is brought about. In this way, safety is provided. |
