The main latching hook is retained in the locking posn. by a spring-loaded sliding bolt which in turn is retained in the locked posn. by a transverse sliding pin driven forward by one of two alternative electrical devices energised by a microswitch whose operating lever is directly in contact with the main latching hook above. The electrical device is either a solenoid with spring loaded armature return and a linear dash pot air or oil damper or is an expansion thermostat with electrical resistance heater. The working expansion fluid is esp. 45% butylbehenate and 55% stearyl adipate mixt.
