The data storage system supplies a number of consuming circuits. Each circuit supplies one of the gates giving access to the system. The data received by the store can be for transmission, retransmission, temporary storage or processing in the consumption circuits. The system can be used in digital communication equipment with a large number of group centres such as telephone exchanges or administrative centres. The memory control logic (1) consists of the control memory (2) and the instruction memory (7). The instruction memory and the control memory each consist of a number of cells. The cells of the two memories are associated in pairs with means of identifying the user circuit gate. The cells are scanned to find a free cell when one of the circuits has an instruction.
